Mohie Eddin: Strong Egyptian economy can deal with global financial crisis
"The Egyptian economy's strength enables us to deal with the current global financial crisis," said Minister of Investment Mahmoud Mohie Eddin on Tuesday14/10/2008.
Egyptian banks are solvent and are efficient credit-wise, said Mohie Eddin while presiding over a meeting of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI)'s board of trustees.
The soundness of the payment system has contributed to preventing the Egyptian economy from collapse, Mohie Eddin said.
However, there are much difficulties facing national economy, he admitted, calling for exerting utmost efforts to ride out these difficulties.
The positive development in the field of investment in the recent period has helped avoid several negative effects of the international crisis, Mohie Eddin said.
