Nazif: Egypt's economy strong, capable to stand up to crises

Egypt's economy is strong enough to stand up to any economic crisis, said Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif on 31/12/2008.

The Egyptian economy managed to overcome several crises, including the international food and fuel price hikes, he noted.

Cabinet Spokesman Magdi Radi said that the government is keen to maintain the unprecedented economic growth rate that was attained in 2008.

Meanwhile, after a meeting between Nazif and Minister of Housing Ahmed Maghrabi, Cabinet Spokesman Magdi Radi said that the government is keen on supplying all Egypt with potable water and sanitary sewage system.

Around 95 percent of Egypt is now supplied with fresh water, Radi said.
