CASE 30 stood at 8400 points

The stock exchange's index CASE 30 of the most actives stood on Thursday at 8400 points. Up to 118 million shares were traded at a total volume of LE 1.3 billion. Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) share notched up to LE 5.96, marking a spike of 1.71 per cent.

The share tumbled down during the last few days over reports of the company chairman's apprehension on charges of involvement in the murder of a Lebanese singer in Dubai, which brought down the whole market.

Top gaining shares were Sharkia National Food which shot up by 11.9 per cent to close at LE 66.4. Egyptians Abroad for Investment and Development's share increased by 11.4 per cent to LE 71.24.

Among the winners were Mena for Touristic & Real Estate Investment, with its share upping by 12.1 percent to LE 20.11. As for the share of TMG, Essam Khalifa, an official with the National Bank of Egypt, expected it to continue rising in the coming few days. Khalifa termed as strong the financial position of the group in the market.

Hisham Talaat Moustafa's personal problems have nothing to do with the performance and the works of the company, he said.
