Irrigation Minister: No Israeli experts working in High Dam

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zaid, denied on 5/9/2008 the existence of any Israeli experts in the High Dam area affirming that the reports published by some newspapers are totally baseless.

Minister Abu Zaid underscored that there was nothing threatening the High Dam's safety while there is a round-the-clock monitoring over the High Dam's body.

Director of the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Technical Bureau, Abdel Elah Mohamed Abdallah, said that the High Dam zone is closed and no one can sneak into it because it is secured by the most up-to-date and most complicated technological means.

Meanwhile, chief of the High Dam and Aswan Reservoir Power Station, Mohamed Fatahallah, said that there were no Israeli employees at the electricity station, stressing that the corporation which is currently undertaking development works at the power station is a Russian-German one. There were no Israeli workers among this Russian-German corporation, added Fatahallah.
