Tork to Hold Campaign Rally in Alexandria Next Friday.

     Democratic Unionist presidential candidate Ibrahim Tork plans to give a briefing to journalists and party members at the Palestine Hotel in Alexandria this week. Next Friday (Aug. 26) the candidate is expected to hold his first campaign rally in his home district of Rachid, also in Alexandria.

Gomaa Holds a Conference in Port Said Today.
    Noaman Gomaa, Wafd Party candidate, plans to formally announce his campaign platform at a rally today in Port Said. Ahmad Al-Torgoman, President of Wafd's Port Said Committee, said the party plans to hold 5 conferences in the area for its members and supporters over the course of the campaign. He also added that party supporters had hung 300 campaign banners all over the city.

Al-Uksory Explains Party Platform in Port Said.
    Egypt Arab Socialist Party Wahid Al-Uksory held a campaign rally in Port Said where he explained his party's presidential campaign platform. Later today Al-Uksory is expected to record a political advertisement to be aired on Egyptian television.

Mohamed Hosni Mubarak, National Democratic Party
Mubarak To Discuss Unemployment in 10th of Ramadan City.
   In his first electoral meeting in the 10th of Ramadan city scheduled for today, NDP presidential candidate and incumbent President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak plans to explain his strategy for fulfilling his pledge to create 4 million job opportunities over the next 6 years, if he is reelected. The NDP candidate said his strategy included implementing, what he referred to as, Egypt's largest investment program ever and encouraging private sector job creation.

Mamdouh Qenawi, Social Constitutional Party
Qenawi Calls for Reforms to Parliamentary Elections System.
     Social Constitutional Party presidential candidate Mamdouh Qenawi called for reforms to the parliamentary elections system. He added that the current system should be changed to a proportional party list system. He also noted that the upcoming parliamentary elections will decide whether Egypt continues to reform or deteriorates. He also added that his platform's slogan is “Coming Back Home” and that the Social Constitutional Party is second only to the NDP and that he expects to lead the reform process in the country.

Ayman Nour, Al-Ghad Party
Nour Says He will Transform Port Said into Hong Kong.
    Ghad Party presidential candidate Ayman Nour held a campaign rally in Port Said. Nour stated that, if elected, he will re-vamp the free zone, improving its trade practices and transforming the city along the lines of Hong Kong. The candidate added that the city [has great potential], due to its strategic location at the entrance of the Suez Canal. Nour also noted that, if elected, he will repeal the emergency and terrorism laws.

Ahmed Al-Sabahi, Ummah Party
Al-Sabahi Plans to Endorse Mubarak.
    Al-Ummah Party presidential candidate Ahmed Al-Sabahy, plans to endorse the candidacy of President Mubarak at a conference to be held in Alexandria on September 3rd. Al-Sabahi has said that it is almost impossible to compete against President Mubarak because he is the only candidate capable of winning the presidential elections.

Rifaat Al-Agroudy, Accord Party
Al-Agroudy Rally in Daqahlia Attracts 5000.
    Accord party presidential candidate Rifaat Al Agroudy held his first campaign rally in his hometown of Kom EL-Nour in the governorate of Daqahlia. At the rally he said that he already felt that he was the president of Egypt, especially after receiving tremendous amount of requests and comments from voters. The candidate added that conference attendance had surpassed his expectations, with 5000 members of the public participating .

Osama Shaltout, Solidarity Party
Shaltout to Hold Rally in Sohag Today.
     Osama Shaltout, presidential candidate of the Solidarity Party, held a press conference yesterday in which he discussed his campaign strategy for the election. He said that that he plans to implement this strategy starting with a rally this afternoon in the city of Tahta (Governorate of Sohag). He added that his platform includes: reforming the country's administrative sector and media; increasing the profitability of the public sector; reviving Egyptian civil society; improving healthcare services; and guaranteeing the rights of women and children. Highlighted also were increasing Egypt's defense capabilities and developing renewable energy sources.
